hey y’all, i saw @james and the crew at namm, and we were talking about updating how the midi clock works in the footswitch menu.
right now start and stop midi clock works, but it only starts and stops the midi clock, it does not also send the play command. I am wondering / hoping that we can add real time start and stop to the footswitch menu in the omniport settings so that i can easily have an external stop and start control for my looper pedals.
has anyone else had this problem? i think it would be an easy thing to add into the beta which i am currently running.
Hi! Maybe I’m misunderstanding the use case, but are the dedicated start/stop commands not appropriate here?
for sure this is how i have things working now. but i would like to have a dedicated start stop toggle on an external footswitch. i am a musical director / bass player so i need to be able to stop and start the tracks without going to a bank. for some reason the stop start midi clock commands in the footswitch menu arent the same as real time stop start
Oh! The commands available in the footswitch menu are “Start/Stop MIDI Clock” – it just starts and stops whether the MIDI clock is sending, not the Start/Stop realtime message.
I’ve made a feature request card on Trello to add MIDI realtime start/stop commands to that menu: Trello
For now, the workaround I tend to do is to have a couple “universal” presets on the last page of each bank, which I copy to every bank. Now that sounds tedious, but if you “Copy” the preset at the top and then TRIPLE CLICK “Paste Preset,” it’ll copy and save it to all banks. Then I just call “Preset X” or whatever from the footswitch aux command menu.
yeah exactly ive been using the third page for this - gotta get on trello
