on my MC8 on the latest firmware … the Message Type PRESET RENAME accepts only 5 characters. Feature or big ? … 5 is a tad to small a number to make this feature usable anyway. The idea is to make a preset hold 2 songs, (one somg pr PAGE) and to make the preset change name based on witch PAGE is active. Kind regards Nils
To follow up this previous comment, I have a similar behavior with an up to date MC6. I can only input a 4 char length preset rename.

Unfortunatly, it’s a MKII in my case.
i also have this issue being limited to 4 characters. My friend with the mc3 is limited to 5 characters.

Unfortunately, this is something we cannot change. MC3 is also limited to 4 characters for the preset rename function.
What about the mc6? Since names are longer in the actual short name.
Same for the MC3, MC6 MK2 and MC8. This feature was added in a subsequent firmware after the initial release. The data structure is fixed for these models, so the maximum characters we can use for these models is 4.
