I have been looking but cannot find any info when using message scroll for say, favorite presets, for the name of the preset to be displayed vice a number. Is this possible? Thanks

so my followup questions are:

  • I am using a msg scroll for selecting favorite presets. each release shows a number, for me 0-4 and then recycles. what I was hoping for was that each release would show the preset name vice a number. I am trying this out on my Pog2 and the preset scroll works great. I tried the suggested topic but the pog2 uses a PC change for the presets not a CC. or am I getting this wrong? I am sure it is. :wink: I love the potential of this and the support but but I get easily confused on some concepts. Thanks again

1st message should be RELEASE/pc change

2nd message should be RELEASE/preset rename /choose which name/fill in name

Do this as many times you need to change the PC and name. Final message should be PRESS/ utility /manage message scroll ā€œ2ā€

I am close but not there. So there are 8 presets on the pog2 that I have separately programmed into the mc8 pro in my bank 3 slots C-J. These work great when wanted. On the message scroll which is in same bank but under ā€œBā€ named FavPst%G. I have the same presets for those in C-J and then under each PC for the pog2 preset I have;

  • Action - Release
  • Type: Preset Rename
  • Select Type: Short Name
  • Load Original Preset Name: No
  • Name: the name I gave to the preset
  • Action: Press
  • Type: Utility
  • Select Option: Manage Preset Message Scroll
  • Message Scroll Option: Set number of messages to Scroll
  • Number of Messages: 2, I have tried 1, 7 and 8 too

That is repeated 8 times from PC 0-7. When I press that preset it goes in correct sequence 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, then skips to 6 and then skips to 8th preset. It shows the correct name. I have tried multiple attempts and ways. Unsure where to look next, thanks.

Lastly, it has this weird thing where it keeps changing the preset name to the last pog2 preset name.?! I have to change the preset name back to FavPst%G. donā€™t understand that issue either.

Are you sure you have them all as ā€œRelease,ā€ and that youā€™re clearly alternating between the PC and rename actions? Also, make sure that you have them all set to Pos:both. The message scroll filters out messages in the wrong position, which can sometimes create behavior that looks erratic.

Yā€™all are great! I donā€™t care what anyone says.:wink: So I had pasted the presets and on the ones that were not acting correctly I forgot to change them from ā€œpressā€ to ā€œreleaseā€. :man_facepalming: Now I need to see what other issues I can cause for myself. For me, I read the manuals and watch the videos but I guess I learn best when I cause a problem and then reach out for a solution or I solve it myself. Also, sometimes the verbiage confuses me too. Once again, thanks and I love this product.

Iā€™m a new owner of the MC8 Pro. Can the message scroll be set up to work with multiple devices? For instance, changing presets on an Ampero II Stomp as well as on an SA Ventris Reverb at the same time.

Hi,

thatā€™s possible. Just use the method described above. You can add messages to send a pc to more than one devices. Just make sure that these messages trigger on ā€˜releaseā€™ and change the ā€˜number of messages to scrollā€™ accordingly. Also, make sure to programm those messages in the correct sequence.
