EDIT: OK, I figured out the problem. First, the extensive programming choices in the Morningstar editor allowed me to figure out what was going on. To test whether the expression pedal was communicating with the LVX, I set the expression pedal type to send a program change on toe down. That worked perfectly. The default setting in the midi dictionary is CC on Toe Down, which is not what I wanted. I set the type to Expression CC (Linear Response). This was my original choice, which did not seem to work, but that was an error. If you assign a switch to toggle between two values for a parameter, and that parameter is one of Left or Right Favorite Parameter, when you toggle the switch, you see the display meter jump between the values.
A side note: if you use the expression jack on the LVX and assign a favorite parameter to the expression pedal, the sound changes, but the visual display does not reflect the the expression pedal movement, the way that the MC6 Pro.
That was the problem. Once I plugged in the guitar and moved the MC6 Pro expression pedal, the parameter sound jumped between the two values. The problem is you do not get any display feedback. Not a problem when you have the guitar in hand, but a problem if you are building testing how things work. In any event, maybe the lack of display change is a bug in the LVX, or a feature I should request.
Thanks.
I am using the MC6 Pro to control PC and CC changes on the Meris LVX and the Quad Cortex Mini. I have an expression pedal assigned to Omniport 2. It is calibrated correctly, and I have no problem assigning it to control the Quad Cortex Mini.
The Meris LVX, however, is driving me up the wall. In the Global menu of the LVX, you can assign parameters to the expression pedals. If I connect the expression pedal directly to the LVX, it works as expected.
The manual contains a full set of midi CC assignments. The list says CC is assigned to expression pedal. I have not problem assigning switches, for example, on the MC6 Pro to toggle two values for a parameter, such as mix. This tells me, unlike the Eventide H90, CC assignments are essentially hardwired in the pedal. The list says CC 04 is reserved for Expression Pedal. I am assuming that if in the global menu, I assign Expression A to a parameter, and I am using the midi CC 04 that the expression pedal would map to the assignment I made with Expression pedal in the Global menu. I used the Expression assignment in the midi dictionary for the Meris LVX.
Problem is that it just does not work. Any insight in how to get this to work would be appreciated.
Thanks.
