Memory Chip Replacement

I was sent a replacement board for an MC8 from MS over the weekend because the USB port is bad. I need to swap out the socketed memory chip from the old board to the new one but cannot identify it by looking at it (I’m not an electronics expert). I don’t want to fiddle around too much and risk breaking something. Can someone let me know what it looks like or perhaps post a photo?

Are you sure that you are actually looking for a memory chip? I know the MC6pro has a micro SD card as memory. You probably knw how that looks like, otherwise google can help you.

Thanks, I found and swapped it out. On the MC8 it’s a socketed chip. Good to know the newer versions have SD cards, maybe Morningstar will adapt this into future MC8s as well.
