MC8 Pro Wireless Logic Integration

Hi there. Just trying to get my MC8 Pro connected to Logic wirelessly to make transport controls in Logic foot switchable. I am able to do so when connected via USB-C but unable to connect wirelessly. I’ve got a connection in MIDI Studio within Audio Midi Setup and the Morningstar appears in my inputs in Logic’s MIDI settings but my controller isn’t doing what I expect when I press a footswitch to trigger a Keystroke. Any ideas?

Do you see midi activity in Logic’s transport?

Yes. When wired, it preforms the action (in this case, sends a keystroke “Space” to start and stop playback). When connecting by Bluetooth, I can see that it’s getting a message, it just doesn’t do the action.

You can’t send keystrokes via Bluetooth MIDI…the protocol doesn’t support these. You will need to use a cable.

You should map a MIDI command to the Logic functions instead and then you’ll be able to send these via BT MIDI.

Ah, perfect. I’m not a MIDI person but I’m trying. I guess I got some reading to do. Thanks very much.
