Hi, I’m having issues with the Morningstar Editor not detecting my new MC8 Pro via USB on macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 (MC8 Pro Firmware v3.13.6). I tried following the troubleshooting advice in Editor connection troubleshooting | Morningstar Engineering but I still have this issue. I can confirm that:
- MIDI has been enabled in the browser
- The USB cable is connected to the USB Device port, not the USB Host port
- USB cable is not faulty (have tried both the cable included with the MC8 Pro as well as a known good USB cable)
- Browser is updated to latest version
- Tried restarting the browser
- Tried restarting the computer
- Tried removing the MIDI device in MIDI Studio.
Bluetooth MIDI detection does work, but only via the web app - it isn’t even listed as an option in the desktop editor.
I have noticed something interesting and weird about my MC8 Pro’s boot sequence: at first on boot macOS detects the MC8 Pro as a keyboard and pops up the dialog for you to teach it the keyboard layout it’s using. During that time, the MC8 Pro appears as an active device in MIDI Studio. After the MC8 Pro finishes booting, the MIDI device is disabled in MIDI Studio, and nothing I’ve tried has gotten it to enable again.
I’m really not sure what could be going on with my MC8 Pro.
