MC8 and Roland FA06/08 how to

Hi all

is there anybody who has tryet with conting and controle Roland FA06/08 with Morningstar MC8

I am looking to control and use the drumkit on the FA06/08 thru Midi

if you has som direction I would love to hear about :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi John. Are you looking to play the individual drum samples with your feet by using the MC8?

Hi Benjamin - Yes that my plan, like when you use the drum part and press play - stop and also to scroll up and down in drum pattern - but I cant find the midi code for that

You should be able to use Note On messages to play drum samples like you would using the keyboard. Do remember to add Note Off too, or else the FA would behave like the key is held down.

You should be able to use Real Time messages to start and stop patterns.

I’ve had a look through the FA’s rather convoluted MIDI implementation manual and was not able to find options for scrolling up and down in a pattern: https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/FA-06_07_08_MIDI_Imple_eng01_W.pdf

I was able to find some MIDI functions for selecting drum kits and controlling pattern variations. Unfortunately, you’ll need to check with Roland about this.
