MC6 Pro with Boss JHS JB-2 Angry Driver

Hi
Anyone can confirm to me I can control my Boss JB-2 with the MC6 Pro?

I think I read/heard something about momentary latching for Boss pedals but can’t fully comprehend or figure out completely if that is possible .

Many thanks in advance for your help and feedback.

Luc

Welcome! The Boss JB-2 manual states it can be controlled with a latching foot switch like Boss FS-5L. Manual for FS-5L states it connects with a 1/4” TS (mono) jack.

So you would need a 1/4” TS (mono) to 1/8” TS (mono) jack lead - any old lead will do, doesn’t need to be audio grade. You connect the 1/8” (small jack) end to the MC6Pro relay port and the 1/4” end to the JB-2

Then on the Pro you need a Preset in toggle mode that sends two messages… 1) a relay tip ‘engage’ command i.e. ‘on’ 2) a relay tip ‘disengage’ command i.e. ‘off’

Yes, you will be able to control it with the MC6 PRO’s Relay Ports. We have a video demoing and explaining that here:

Thank you Brandon.
Additional quesiton, on the vidio it shows to use the relay ports with a connector piece but if I see in the software editor, I can also do relay switching out of the omniports,
I assume correct that I can just put a TS cable from omniport 1 to my Boss and set it up in the editor, no need for an additional connector piece?

many thanks!

Hi,
the Pro has two dedicated relay ports. If you want to connect to an omniport you’d need a relay interface like this:

The Relay option for the Omiports are for if you connect the Relay Interface that GuitarWolf has shared. The Omniports themselves do not perform relay switching.

Very clear!
thank you all for the explenation.
Now only to wait till the MC6 Pro is back in stock and off we go!
