hello I love my mc6 pro and I use it all the time on a pedal board for live gigs… I’ve got it humming and working flawlessly but…sometimes when I’m flying around I hit some combination of buttons that causes it to go to a bank that says empty on every screen. not a huge bumber I can get back but it takes me a minute. is there a way I can disable this? I have the controller constrained with the (sorry can’t remember the name) controller settings? so that only 5 or so banks are in play and with an external switch (double switch) I bank up and down. any thoughts? thank you so much, Ron
Hi! Sounds like you want “Dual switch lock enabled”… have a look in Controller Settings
I will do that thank you
something interesting is that I was just now trying to get it to go to the blank page I couldn’t do it. I tried every button combo, double press, combo double press. aux switches included, couldn’t get it and it happens to me about one time every gig. any thoughts on what might be going on? ghost in the machine?
If you enabled “Dual Switch Lock” or if you have the switch sensitivity setting set to 5, then dual button presses will not work. Can you check and see if that’s the case?
looking at the editor now. dual switch lock is green and checked (I didn’t engage it just now it was already set that way) and sensitivity is set to 3
so you need to DISABLE the dual switch lock
function if you want the A+B/B+C (bank up/down) functions to work.
I learn more about this great controller every time I come to this forum.
@norman - are you saying you have got Dual Lock enabled AND you still see occasional bank jumps?
yes dual lock enabled and bizarre irreproducible bank jumps to empty banks not part of my custom bank group
Is there anything connected to the MIDI Input or USB port? The only way that would happen is if it receives a PC/CC message on it’s MIDI Channel that triggers a bank change
nothing in either. I use the usb to use the editor and when I’m done I unplug it. i’v never plugged anything into midi in. in case it is relevant, I am only controlling one h9 with the mc6 pro. thanks for looking at this.
is there anything you can think of ? ghost in the machine?
The next time it happens, take note of what bank and page the MC6 PRO is on and let me know. Can you also do an ‘all banks’ controller backup and share the file so I can look at your settings?
ok. thank you, it happened again last night. I did take note that I had just pressed the upper right button. I do know what bank I was on but I was in the middle of a song so I couldn’t do any other analysis.
hi James. thanks for helping. it happened when I was hitting, or had just hit the upper right button. I will get started on learning how to make a backup and share my settings. thank you!
Thanks for the info. Please email it to help@morningstarfx.com
You can do the back up by going to the Controller Backup tab in the editor and then do an All Banks
backup.
Let me know which bank/preset to look at
hey James, just a heads up I did send my controller’s configuration to the email address above. I did it Sunday night. thank you so much for looking it over and sorry it took so long. cheers.
