MC6 Pro Presets all EMPTY after restore

Help! I’m having a problem with restoring presets on my MC6 Pro. Here’s what I did:

  1. Backed up my controller settings using the editor Controller Backup > All Banks feature
  2. Manually edited the JSON file to copy some settings from one location to another (I’ve done this successfully before - actually I wrote a short jq script to do it for me)
  3. Restored this file on the device using Controller Backup > Restore

It complained about me having manually edited the file and I said ok (it worked fine last time). It then went through the upload process but eventually failed with failure code -1 (or maybe -2). I rebooted the controller and suddenly all my banks/pages/presets are all EMPTY. However, on the editor, I can still see all of my settings. I tried another backup and restore which was successful but didn’t change anything. I also tried restoring from a previous backup file which again was successful but I’m still getting EMPTY in every preset and bank.

Again, I can still see all of my presets on the web interface, just not on my pedal. When I click through the banks on the UI they appear on the pedal as expected, but when I disconnect the pedal and attempt to change banks, it changes back to EMPTY. Please help! Thanks

This seems like it could be the same issue but there are no replies :frowning: Controller loads with blank banks/presets

Can you check that you are on the right Profile (should be profile 1)?

Thanks for the idea! I checked and I was still on profile 1. For completeness I also cycled through all the other profiles but none of them had my settings.

Side note: for anybody who was confused like me about the instructions to switch profiles which say “Press switch E+H to access the menu”, it’s D+F on the MC6 Pro.

I ended up doing a factory reset from the same menu. I reset all profiles and controller settings and now my banks/presets are back (didn’t need to restore them or anything, they just appeared after the reset).
