MC6 Pro Omniports, TRS cables, Chase Pedals, Definitive Answer Please

I’m tearing my hair out trying to get a definitive answer to a question with so much conflicting information floating around it’s ridiculous: Can I control Chase Bliss pedals with ONLY standard 1/4" TRS Cables using the Omniports, and if not, why not?

I absolutely do not want an additional MIDI box on my board to accommodate this.
I absolutely do want to have to Mickey Mouse my own cables.

From what I’ve read, even when configured to not send Tip signals, the MC6 Pro still does send voltage to the tip that confuses CB pedals, and the controller does not control the pedal successfully. Is this something that could be addressed in firmware? Or am I SOL, with a MIDI Controller that doesn’t really work as advertised? I love the thing for controlling my HX Stomp, but I’ve found this whole ordeal of trying to get a straight answer infuriating.

You’d need a CBA or Desaster Area midi box or a customized cable.
Complain at CBA about this

Hi. We understand your frustration, but here’s the thing. Some Chase Bliss pedals work fine with a normal TRS cable and the Omniport set to MIDI Out Ring Active. However, some don’t and require the cable tip to be physically floating. We have a panel in the Omniport section of the manual stating this and what you can do to resolve this without the need for a MIDI Box.

Thank you. I searched the site for “Chase Bliss” but did not see that section. I’m laying out a pedalboard with four CB pedals, and it looks like TRS Y cables make the most sense for me, as frustrating and clunky as that solution may be. Is there any way in Firmware to prevent voltage going to the tip connection, or would that have to be a hardware revision?
