Mc6 pro controlling footswitch- Orange Rockerverb 100 mkiii (Wireless?)

Hey everyone,

I think this will be an easy answer for someone… I have the Orange coming this week and I was wondering the easiest way to program its footswitch controls to be controlled by the mc6. I’m assuming i can run an RS cable from the orange to an omniport and program it that way via engage or disengage? Will it work with Rs to RS, Rs to TRS or breakout from tip and ring to TRS? Is this the best route? Can I have access to all 3 of the footswitch options (reverb, channel, and attenuator)?

Additionally, is it possible to accomplish this wirelessly? My pedal board is far from my amp and it would be great to keep it that way if possible.

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi,

The Rockerverb has three TS inputs.

You’d need a trs to 2 ts breakout cable and a ts cable to switch all three options.

To switch the amp wireless you’d need a separate relay switch and some widi devices.

Thank you for the response! A couple follow up questions if you’re willing/ able to answer them-

  • I have a widi uhost on the board for wirelessly editing the mc6 and ml10x. Would I be able to get just the widi jack and use that to go from trs to 2 ts breakout cable and operate 2 of the 3 TS ports?
  • Trying to wrap my head around the separate relay switch. Wouldn’t it be feasible to program a command on the mc6 and use the onboard switches? If not, is there a relay switch you’d recommend? Are there relay “switches” that don’t use an actual switch but just connect in a midi chain?

The Rockerverb’s control system is not MIDI-based, it’s a set of three analog “relay” switches. The MC6 Pro happens to have 4 relay switch outputs, arranged onto the Tip and Ring of two “Relay Ports” (each of the two ports controls two relay inputs). There’s no simple way for the MC6 Pro to send analog relay signals wirelessly through the air, but with the right adapters (like the CME WIDI devices), you could send MIDI out of the MC6 Pro to another device, such as the Suhr MicroMIDI, and then that would interpret the MIDI into a relay signal.

(for three relays, you would typically need two of these devices, since I don’t know of any standalone MIDI-to-relay interface with more than two relays.)

This was very helpful as well, thank you. I got the mc6 controlling two of the rockerverbs switches right away thanks to these answers. Ordered the suhr micromidi and some widi devices too- looking forward to testing that out soon!
