MC6 Pro control of Empress Reverb & Echosystem

Hello! Hoping you smart people can help me as I am a beginner in the midi world.

I just got the MC6 Pro and getting to grips with the editor. I currently have the following pedals connected via the Omniports:
Empress Reverb (port 3)
Empress Echosystem (port 2)
Strymon Iridium (port 1)
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal (Port 4)

I have managed to do various things with the Iridum fairly easily - program changes, control changes, to bypass/engage, change to preset, control volume/gain etc…

I have had zero luck doing the same with the Empress pedals and volume pedal.

I have gone into advanced configuration mode on the two Empress pedals to change the control port setting to Midi and also changed the midi channel settings to the correct channels (3 for Reverb, 2 for Echosystem). I changed the Omniport settings for ports 2 and 3 to be tip active (as recommended by James in this forum). I also tried Midi type B as I read this posted by Empress in their own forum. I have tried even the most simple preset just to engage/bypass each Empress pedal, and each time it does nothing.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Ahhhh I got it… for the midi channel setting in advanced configuration mode, the colour of the light on the empress pedal matters - mine was not blue, the first 1-5 settings on the empress, so I had to scroll back until the lights were blue then set to the correct number midi channel. Keeping this here in case anyone else has the same issue.

I’m working on getting my mc6 pro to talk to my tremolo 2. Should i be using a standard patch cable or, a TRS cable?

I use TRS cables to connect the Empress control ports to the Morningstar omniports and have the MIDI messages being sent as tip active. I haven’t tried this so can’t confirm but I believe you can use a TS cable, according to this Empress forum here, which also mentions using MIDI type B:
