Hello,
I have a problem with configuring the channels switching via relay ports. I tried various settings, toggle, options for tip/ring and nothing seems to be correct. The EVH 5150 III has 3 channels + effects switch. I’d like mostly to have toggle one switch on MC6 Pro to toggle between green/blue channel. Any ideas how should I set it up?
I’ll be very grateful for any suggestions
Hi, a quick search got me this
Looks like midi is the way to go!
I own a Malekko goatkeeper that requires tip to ring connection. The relays only short tip to ground and ring to ground. Maybe the EVH also requires tip to ring connection. I started a post a while back: Tap tempo over relay ports
I solved my issue be rewiring a trs cable, swapping the ground and sleeve connection on one end.
For your case there is another downside. The EVH has a 4 button switcher. And it provides two trs cables that are inserted in the amp, right?
If so, you are going to be using up both relay ports, to control just your amp. Midi does seem a lot more convenient. I also think programming midi gives a better overview of what you are actually doing than performing relay switching actions.
Hi, thanx a lot guys. Actually the footswitch is only one TRS mono cable, I don’t know how they made it but I found some detailed info about wire technicals:
If it will require any cable modification I will probably go for MIDI…
Has anyone managed to configure the MC6PRO to control the 100w EVH 5150?
