I am brand new to MIDI controllers and just picked up an MC6 Pro. So far so good but I am trying to create a command that replicates a Strymon favorite switch on a non-midi Deco. I believe this is achievable through one of the relay ports but I can’t seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?
Sorry, upon further investigation we discovered that the strymon favorite switches are wired differently. Relay ports are not able to function as a favorite switches.
PNW…I’m pretty new to this too as of Nov 24, but I think I might have figured this out as I was looking for the same thing for my Deco V1. I used an omni-port, in my case omni-port 2 as a relay port physically connected to EXP port on Deco - and had done the setting to make swithing the favorite (vs. Tap) on the Deco.
Within controller settings, changed omni port 2 to EXT Omni-port Relay Interface. Settings were Normally Open, Normally Open, No Sync. On the preset settings, Toggle Mode, I turned “On”, Message 1 was Press, Type was Relay Switching, Relay was Omni Port 2, Tip Action was Engage, Ring Action Nothing, Position 1. Did the same thing for message 2 but changed Tip Action to disengage and Position 2. This is working for me.
What I’ve never tried but would like to figure out how to do is to save multiple favorites to the deco and then figure out how to pull favorite 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. If can save multiple favorites, Seems like you would just need to have the press function “press” as many times as needed but not sure on the disengage. If you figure that part out let me know OR I will let you know if I do. I used omni port because I had the cable but I’m assuming relay port would work identical.
