MC6 mki and Red Panda Tensor midi not working

So, it doesn’t work, at all.
I have a Flat TRS to MIDI Cable - Type B, and because the TRS is 1/8" I got a stereo 1/8" to 1/4" converter. This worked perfect on the CB Habit, midi messages sent perfectly through my setup, so I assumed it would be the same with the TRS v1.2 setting on the Tensor.

Unfortunately, it receives no CC Messages\etc. at all, and I’m not sure why. I verified the channel is the same, and the control input is set to Midi TRS. What am I doing wrong? Is it something to do with that cable that works (for whatever reason) with Chase Bliss pedals, but not others?

I could get something like this but I’m not even sure what the difference would be.

I also looked around for a setting on the MC6 and couldn’t find anything with respect to the midi output type.

The omniports should have different midi out types you can try if you have a 1/4in to 3.5mm cable/adapter. There is no standard for midi over 3.5mm and I think Red Panda uses Tip-active vs the Ring-active midi CB uses. Sorry I can’t offer the right cable to use, I don’t have either of those brands of pedals but using the Omniport will give you more selections.

Ring-active vs Tip-active would probably explain why. Unfortunately mk1 doesn’t have omniport, just midi out\in and 2 expression ports.

I guess I need either a midibox or maybe something like a garbage collector to get it to work (midibox might be better since you can control the output types, etc.)

Thanks.

Ahh sorry I didn’t notice the missing “i” in your title. Yeah that should be it. I’ve seen people mostly talking about Morningstar’s Midibox vs Disaster Area’s MIDI Box 4. Never heard about the Garbage Collector but if its switchable that should do it too.

Found this if you’re into soldering. Could maybe just resolder the cable you have if you aren’t planning on using it for the CBs anymore
