Making my own TRS cables for MC6 Pro

Hi all

I’m currently using EBS TRS moulded cables to attach 4 pedals to the omniports on my MC6 Pro, everything is working fine, however I would like to make my own cables to tidy the board up a bit.

I read somewhere that there was an issue with squareplugs not working well and was wondering if this was correct?

If so could anyone recommend a good, low profile and right angled TRS plug to use instead.

Thanks

I have used Squareplugs throughout my rig for years, including on my MC8, and have never had a problem.

Second the Square plugs. I just built a bunch of TRS cables with SP-550s and its working great.

Ensure there is enough space between the sockets to insert square jacks fully. Some have wider bodies than others. They are obviously wider than standard “barrel” plugs and failure to insert them fully is the most likely cause of any unreliability. I have had no problems at all using right angle jacks, and much prefer them for pedalboard installations.
