Long Relay Switch Command

So I have a UA Starlight inbound and am considering swapping out the right foot switch for a 1/4” jack so I can send midi clock over relay port switching. Since the Starlight also has the ability to recall presets with a long press, would it be possible to send a command to effectively hold the “press” for 1.5 seconds on the relay port?

Thanks!

Hi,
interesting idea. If it works it should be easy to emulate a long press. Just program ‘relay open’ on press and ‘relay closed’ on release (or vice versa). Or add a delay between messages.

It would be great if possible! I just don’t know how to make it happen, haha.

I wonder if the Pirate MIDI CLICK can be controlled in such a way… I’ll have to dig in to that.

It looks like a command like this should work. I had to use 2 delay commands because the max time is 1.2 seconds and supposedly the Starlight needs 1.5 seconds.

The Starlight and controller are both inbound so I’ll have to wait and see if this works.

If you have a controller without a relay port and just use an external MIDI to Relay device, changing the first and last types to a CC command should suffice.
