So, it appears that my new ML5 has a faulty loop D. I contacted support but realize this is a weekend. I checked the cables and swapped overdrives in the loop and get nothing. There is a click when it is engaged. Just zero sound.
I have the same issue with the ML5 I bought new earlier this year through Thorpy FX. My faulty loop is C however but the same: I hear the relay ‘click’ when engaged but no audio. @james should I contact Thorpy FX direct?
You can drop us an email at help@morningstarfx.com with your order details.
Can you just confirm that it isn’t a cable issue.
Also, when Loop C is engaged, try these connections:
- Guitar to Input, Amplifier to Send C
- Guitar to Return C, Amplifier to Output
This will determine if it is a single send OR return port that is the issue.
Hi @james. Firstly, Happy New Year and thanks for your reply.
I’ve had a chance to rest the unit and it wasn’t a cable fault however I noticed one of the silver collars from the Loop C Return Jack had fallen out during the last board rebuild. For some reason any Jack wouldn’t sit in the socket properly but now I have reinstalled the collar, the unit seems to be working as it should.
If I have the issue reoccur, I’ll let you know.
Thanks for the customer service and troubleshooting help.
