Hi,
I have been using a rack drawer setup with 2x ML10x for quite a while now and it has been fantastic. Everything is controlled via an MC6pro wireless via Widi Jack. I use one ML10x in simple mode for my dry fx, using the SysEx message type to set or toggle individual loops. The other ML10x is in advanced mode for parallel wet fx, using SysEx to select the routing preset on the ML10x.
I was using a Nano Cortex for quite a while as my “amp” and just now upgraded to the Quad Cortex Mini. I had no issues with the Nano Cortex, but now with the Quad Cortex Mini it seems to read a preset change from the SysEx messages for the ML10x’s. If I disable the SysEx messages for the ML10x’s, preset switching is as expected. With SysEx messages enabled the Quad Cortex Mini will first switch to the desired preset (this message is first in chain) and then switch to a different preset (the SysEx messages are last in chain.)
Things I have tried in the Quad Cortex Mini midi settings:
Ignore Duplicate PC messages on and off (it is much worse off)
USB midi on and off (no difference that I could tell)
Midi Thru is off (Quad Cortex Mini)
Quad Cortex Mini is last in the midi chain
As I do not wish to reprogram all my presets on the MC6pro to not use SysEx at this time, my temporary “solution” is to put the Quad Cortex Mini preset change PC message after the SysEx messages so at least it ends up on the correct preset after first jumping to a different preset..
It would be greatly appreciated if you guys can point me to a solution I may have missed, or if this issue can be resolved. I really would like to keep using SysEx obviously, rather than having to do a lot of PC/CC messages to control the ML10x’s. Thank you!
