Hello,
I set up my Enzo X to listen to external midi clock :
I even selected FOrce listen in the enzo preset itself :
I have a switch on the mc6 pro that i set up for tap tempo :
sorry i cant make a screenshot now, but it just has 2 messages which are :
1)PRESS –> midi clock tap.
- (this message is not for the enzo x but to send tap tempo info to my boss DD8) PRESS –> relay switching –> etc. : this works, my DD8 tempo is controlled by this MC6 switch.
But the tempo on the Meris never changes, its like its ignoring it.
Any idea what i should change ?
cheers,
“MIDI Clock Tap” sends taps into the Morningstar unit itself, for setting its internal click. If you actually want the MIDI Clock sent out of the unit, you need to either turn on “MIDI Clock Persist” in the General Configuration or use the “MIDI Clock” command to turn the clock on or off.
Thank you Jason for the feedback. I tried to change to midi clock persist but no improvement.
Here are my settings :
Tap tempo switch preset (this also allows to send the tap tempo info to the Boss DD8, and that works fine) :
Do I need another command to send the tempo info to the Meris as well ?
edit : by the way, first in the chain is the Chroma Console, which then transmits to Enzo and back to MC6. And i am also not succeeding to send MC6 tempo info to the Chroma.
The Chroma is set to THru mode without internal clock, and for Midi clock source i tried both DIN MIDI and AUTO, but neither is working .
I have not solved my issue but in the meantime, i implemented a work-around : instead of having all midi pedals synchronized to the MC6 midi clock, i am simply adding CC commands on my tap tempo preset. (To make it work i had to change the Midi pedals settings in order to ignore global midi clock.)
The CC commands go to each midi pedal (in this case : Chroma Console and Enzo X) for their tap tempo command (basically using the MC6 switch instead of their built-in tap tempo switch). It seems to achieve the same thing, i cant think of a downside ?
Does your controller show the clock blinking icon in the corner? (also, which Morningstar device are you using?)
If your Morningstar controller is set to persistently send clock; if it shows that it’s sending it; and if your MIDI connections otherwise work, then the most likely culprits are
(1) the receiving devices not being set to accept the clock;
(2) some device in the middle might be filtering out the clock transmission (any pedals in between in the MIDI Chain?); or
(3) if it’s an effects pedal that lets you turn global sync on and off, the preset itself might be ignoring the clock.
