I want to use my PC to edit, but also keep my iPad Connected. How?

I prefer to use my PC to edit and I’ve been manually swapping the cable, using the USB-C device port only. Is there a way where I can have both connected? I find the desktop editor much easier to work with. Gemini suggested something to do with the following, but I find that it’s been hallucinating quite a bit regarding MC6 Pro capabilities.

Can you elaborate on why you want the iPad connected if you prefer using the desktop editor?

Assuming you’re using the MC6 PRO, I think the only way would be to use a WIDI Jack so you can connect the USB to your PC/iPad and then connect the other via WIDI.

Gary, thanks for paying attention, and also thanks for responding on Facebook. I apologize for dual posting, but it’s hard to know where I would get the most response “action.” Is here the best place, or Facebook? Which is likely to get the most/best eyeballs?

FWIW, here’s what I wrote back: *I use my iPad as my workstation, but it is cumbersome to use the Morningstar editor on the iPad, so I swap the cable and use my PC. As I make edits, I want to test them on the iPad, hence the desire to have both connected at the same time.

@james suggested a WIDI Jack. I have one of these, would it work?

I got part of the way there with the M-Vave, and Morningstar Editor sees it on the PC side, but never can connect.

And perhaps easiest, should I just get one of these? this would go from the PC to the MC6 Pro only for editing: U2MIDI Pro - CME - The MIDI Experts or DOREMiDi MIDI To USB C Type C Cable USB MIDI Converter With Indicator Light For MacBook Android (this one is USB-C).

You’d be using these on the DIN ports of the MC6 into the USB on your computer? That should work fine.

Any issue with being simultaneously connected (iPad via USB-C device port, PC via USB-C–>DIN)?

You can be physically connected, as in the cables are hooked up, but I wouldn’t try to be connected in the editor in both at the same time, though.

In case anyone else runs into this, the CME U2MIDI Pro is a great ‘cheap fix’ for the Morningstar MC6 Pro. I have it connected via the DIN ports, with the USB side running to my Windows 11 PC. This setup lets me keep my iPad connected at the same time, so I can edit on my PC and test on my iPad without any cable swapping.
