How to control simple ableton params with mc8

Hey guys cant seem to get control over ableton functions like simple play, stop, record, etc… working for some reason.

I have ableton preferences correct with (morning star ins sync for clock on pedal and remote so i know its getting midi because my pedals are getting clock. Im wondering if im not programming proper commands for the ableton portion?

In morning midi editor im using note on, midi channel 1 , velocity 1, and then going to midi edit in ableton choosing say play for example and then clicking on stomp A on my mc8 but its not mapping? Maybe i need to be using a different command when mapping things out in midi editor? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Have you disconnected from the editor before pressing the foot switch? Certain Functions Are Not Working

Hey i figured it out. Seems very glitchy with windows. My buddy has no issues on mac with this. I constantly have to close out of ableton and editor as well as restart mc8. Im not going to lie this is pretty ridiculous. Definitely not dependable like a midi interface that is plug and play. Hopefully future firmware can fix the issue of windows and morningstar. I talked to another person who says this is frustrating as all hell and they have dealt with it for a long time.
