How to Clear track Boss RC-5 - (like FS6)

Hi Guys after some digging i have found i need to use the relay port instead of midi to get the functionality i need out of the Boss RC-5

So I am trying to copy the settings from my FS-6…..
1 - REC / PLY / DUB
2 - STOP / CLEAR (where clear was a long press)

i have managed to set this up……all but the long press to clear.

Can anyone advise on what i should do ?
At the moment preset B stops the track but long press does nothing.
I have tried to assign “long press” to TAP NC also but im shooting in the dark here.

At the monet it is

Msg 1 - TAP - NC / Nothing (Stops the track as it should)

if i add

Msg 2 - TAP - NO / Nothing - it will clear the track on long press but now the regular stop function becomes glitchy as if the two msgs are fighting with each other

Any ideas?!

Hi,

Assigning a ‘long press’ to the MC’s footswitch doesn’t translate to the behaviour of the relay. It just specifies what action will trigger whatever action you have programmed to the relay.

If you’d connect a fs6 it would have to be set to act like a momentary switch.

To mimic a momentary switch assign an ‘engage’ action to a press on the MC and a ‘dis-engage’ to a release action. That way the port will act exactly in sync with the action you perform on the MC’s footswitch. A short press will stop the track and a long press will clear it.
