I am using an ML5 with my MC6 Pro. I have set up switches A, B, and C to go between three different distortion pedals and three different loops, and each switch toggles between distortion and solo loops. it’s pretty slick, in that I actually have 6 different loop variations among the three switches.
My problem is that since I’m already using the toggle function I can’t program the background and strip colors on the MC6 Pro to represent which switch I actually have selected.
Is there a way to program it so that only the switch/loop I’m playing is highlighted or colored, and that all others are subdued, or no background/strip color?
Also, one other weird thing. the Position 1 colors (strip, text, and background) actually correlate with the Program Change I have in Position 2, and Position 2 colors correlate with Position 1 Program Change. Not sure why it’s doing that.
When the preset is in Position 1 (and showing the Pos1 colors/names), it is showing that the next messages that will be sent when you engage the preset will be the messages set to “Pos: 1”. Similarly, when it in Position 2, when you engage the preset, it will send the messages set to “Pos: 2”. If you need it to be the other way round, you can change the Pos setting for the messages to suit your requirement.
Yes, if you need it to be applied to all presets, such that when you engage any preset in the bank, the reset of the presets in the bank will revert back to Pos1, you can enable the “Clear Preset Toggles” setting in the Bank Settings. This will reset the toggle positions of all the presets in the bank except the last engaged preset.
If you need to apply this to only specific presets, you’ll need to use the “Set Toggle” message to manipulate the toggle positions of the selected presets in the bank. Here’s an example for Preset A:
When you engage this preset (i.e send out CC#0 value 127), it will also trigger the “Set Toggle” message (Msg3) to disengage the toggle positions for Preset B and C.
