New here……I’m having issues with Hologram Microcosm not receiving data from MC6. I’ve done the cable thing, MIDI channels and MIDI data check. It appears the MC6 is sending data to the HM, but the HM is not responding. I’ve created a simple PC instruction, but nothing is happening. I feel at a loss what to do next. It’s day three and I’m getting close to quitting.
Is there anything between the MC6 and the Microcosm? Also check in your MIDI Channel settings in General Configuration to make sure that the relevant channel is routing properly.
In your position, I’d probably consider resetting the Microcosm to factory and trying to send it messages on Channel 1 (default).
Thanks for that Jason. Unfortunately the factory reset didn’t make any difference, I’ve tried cabling directly from mc6 to Microcosm, and also Strymon pedals. I have the impression the mc6 is dud.
Have you tried using it to control any other MIDI device?
Yes, it can’t find anything. The MIDI data is being transferred according to the MIDI activity monitor within the editor. I’ve sent PC commands to Strymon and Hologram pedals, connected directly to the MC6 via 5-pin midi. The result is ‘F. device not found’ every time.
Are you saying the Morningstar device is saying “F. device not found”? Did you set it up for Fractal Integration?
I’ve no idea what Fractal integration is, but I did discover (eventually) a drop-down menu to find the destination I was looking for. I have never used this system before. The non-communication issue endured until the help/A1/chat short-cut made the suggestion that the Microcosm had an issue involving an automated midi channel change, and inconsistent PC numbers in its manual.
This proved to be the case. On the third attempt of changing the midi channel back to the intended number, communication was finally achieved. My next endeavour will be to hopefully set up the Looper. I may leave that until tomorrow however! Thanks for your help. G
