Help getting started with the ML10X

Hello! I should have the ML10X today! mcpro6 By Friday or Saturday. very excited to start using these cool devices. Been reading a lot, understanding a good amount of it.

Nodes are synonomous with Loop? And that is basically a Pedal in the chain? I’m trying to figure out the most basic 1st step. when I plug my Pedals in, and bring up the ML10x editor. How do I actually name the nodes? Every video I can find doesn’t show this Part. Like, when I plug my Pedals in, does the ML recognize it and create a node? Do I create and name it? so, like in one of the pics I attached to be able to arrange and connect them into a chain preset.

I know I’m missing something very basic, I just can’t figure it out. And don’t have it yet to play around with the editor. Couldn’t figue it out in the Demo mode either. Thanks!

Each block represents one of your loops, which for most people corresponds to a pedal. All blocks are visible in both advanced and simple mode, regardless of whether you have anything in those loops or whether you connect them into anything.

Blocks/Loops can be named in the Controller Settings tab. If you split each loop into two mono pedals, you’ll likely just name the loop corresponding with the “Tip” one pedal and the “Ring” the other pedal. If it’s a stereo pedal, you might just say something like “Hedra L” and “Hedra R.”

When you click the block, you’ll be able to set its default state when the preset loads (engaged or bypassed).

Some people who aren’t trying to move their signal chain around have just Preset 1 storing their one signal chain. They can then use the various commands to engage/bypass loops and they’re happy.

Others use the presets to define entire scenes, with different routings and different loops connected or not connected. They primarily just switch between these scenes.

Others (like me) do some combination. We have a couple favorite signal chains, and then we also want to engage/bypass individual loops.

Ok, thank you for the explanation. I appreciate it! ML got dropped off today, should be home in an hour to play around with it.
