Headrush Looperboard + MC6 Pro pedalboard

Just wanted to share how well the MC6 Pro is working with the Looperboard.

The Looperboard has four independent FX chains, called racks. I typically use Rack 1 for my vocal mic, plugged into input 1. This gives me compression, EQ, and reverb, which always stay on. Additionally, I use expression-over-MIDI to toggle the vocal harmony module using footswitch D on the MC6. So effectively I get two presets out of a single rack.

Racks 2, 3, and 4 are all set to input 2 for my guitar, so they are mutually exclusive. Footswitches A, B, and C toggle between them, i.e. the bottom row on the MC6 gives me three different guitar tones to choose from. I often have an octave down effect on Rack 4, meaning footswitch C gives me a bass guitar tone.

Previously, when using the Looperboard by itself, I had to press the FX switch, then choose the sound I wanted, then press the FX switch again to return to the main track screen. Now I can toggle my vocal harmony or choose from three guitar sounds with a single press. This has been a huge improvement especially with complicated songs where I’m starting and stopping various loops, which I need to be on the track screen to do.

I also have an EHX Superego+ for infinite sustain which comes first in the chain. The piano-style sustain pedal does exactly what the right switch on the EHX does, except it feels much better and I don’t have to reach as far. I get some terrific string and organ sounds from this unit. The only downsides are it does not have stereo outputs or MIDI.

It’s a fairly big, heavy setup using a 32x16" board and flight case, but it’s super easy to set up with a powerstrip attached underneath. All I need to connect is power, mic, guitar, headphone jack (for IEMs), and output(s) to the PA system. Since I do all my own monitoring I don’t need anything from the sound guy, I just tell them to set the final volume and EQ how they like for the room.

Happy to hear any suggestions or answer more detailed questions.
