Global presets possible? (To change all presets with the same name at the same time)

Hey,
not sure if this has been discussed already or even is possible already. Sorry if so.

I have set my MC6 Pro for using the different banks for different songs. For the most songs I have identical presets for “Clean” on button A and “Drive” on button B and then some additional more song specific presets on the other buttons

Within the “Clean” preset for example I have programmed a specific preset of my GFI Specular Tempus and some more settings for some of my pedals.

When I now decide to make a general change of my “Clean”-Sound, let’s say, add a specific preset of my CBA Condor, I will have to change the programming of the “Clean”-preset on every song.

So it would be really cool to have a possibility to declare a preset as a kind of “Global Preset”, so that a change of that preset with that specific name will change all presets with that identical name in all banks it is used.

You can make just one Clean and one Drive sound on your first bank and in every other bank use an “Engage Preset” on those switches to trigger the one sound in bank 1 (or wherever you put it) that way you only ever need to update the one Clean or Dirt sound and all banks will trigger that one preset. Is that what you’re trying to achieve?

@cVarsity Yes, that’s a good idea. Haven’t had a look into all the actions.

This will make programming songs a lot easier.

Yeah man some of the people on here are very smart and have all kinds of awesome ideas. Spend some time reading this place and you’ll be surprised at all the ways you can use Morningstar gear. It had been a while since a single pedal/device had such an impact on my music playing. Check out the waveform engines if you haven’t!

Yes, a global preset would indeed be helpful. I don’t have a very clear idea on the best way to implement this yet.

Currently, the easiest way would be to copy a preset and then triple-click the paste button so that preset gets pasted to the same preset in all banks.

but that limits you to having to use the same preset across all banks.

We’d likely need a new set of presets editable in the controller settings, then a parameter in each preset to select whether to use it’s own parameters or from which global preset to use.
Or a faster/easier way to implement is a setting in each preset to specify which bank/preset to copy from.

Won’t be in the next update but happy to explore in the future.
