Glitch with MIDI Editor and MC8? ISSUE SOLVED!

Hey all!

I had to upgrade to a new Mac (M1 Studio). Everything is set up and working well for the most part. There is a wee problem I’m having with MIDI Editor and my MC8. When I create a new Preset in a Bank, Save the present, and then execute the Program Changes, the Morningstar Editor switches to a new bank and then proceeds to “LOADING… Updating Bank data” whereby things just stall and I have to reboot.

I’ve attached some screenshots. You can see after I press for PCs in the “Initiation” bank the editor kicks me to Bank 5 where there is nothing.

I’m not sure what’s going on here. Appreciate the troubleshooting advice.

Today I created a new Present “Ambient 3” and saved it. I then sent the PC changes to the Strymon pedals via the MC8 and then the MIDI Editor immediately switched to new Presets on Bank 2 (which hasn’t been used yet) and began “LOADING… Updating Preset data” - see attached sreeenshot. It just keeps spinning so I have to disconnect the MC8 and exit the Editor.

I don’t understand what’s going on. Any light would be greatly appreciated!

ps: I should mention on I’m running OS Ventura 13…3.1 on Apple Silicon Mac.

Problem solved!

I found this in the Knowledge Base (see attached screenshot). Unplugging the MIDI IN on the MC8 got things working properly.

I’m a Mac Pro user and a fan of “standalone” apps, however the browser-based (Chrome) editor is far better. It’s always updated and just seems more stable. I have it set as my Chrome homepage, so all I do is plug in my MC8, open Chrome like it’s the standalone editor app, and get to work.
