Hello, I’m attempting to upload v3.13.1 firmware to my MC8 controller. However, it appears to be stalling with ‘upload in progress’ not completing successfully. I am connected directly into a Windows laptop. This is the first time I am attempting to upload the firmware. I have also restarted the laptop and also re-downloaded (using different files) the .hex and firmware updater files. The MC8 is detected. However, I am seeing a brief message “device changed” during the initial moments of the firmware upload. This is a bit frustrating as only a few of my presets are working. It seems like the upload process is impeded by or prevented from fully uploading to the MC8. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hopefully you backed up your controller before you attempted an update. What version is displayed on bootup? I would attempt another update, make sure nothing is running in the background. Also it will display device changed and then a success. If nothing works you may have to do a factory reset and then try again. With a reset you will lose all your data. See if one of the admins will chime in before doing the reset

unfortunately, I’ve attempted this upload multiple times without success. Is something in particular that should not be running in the background? I don’t recall which version was displayed when I initially used the MC8. I’m a bit of a newbie with MIDI and this particular MC8 is my first and only controller. It’s particularly frustrating since it is detecting the MC8 but won’t complete the upload for some reason. I’m almost tempted to revert back to the original firmware version but that might get stalled as well.
Yeah, i have a few Strats. The firmware will be visible on bootup. Super worst xase scenario is boot into safe mode. There are instructions somewhere. I did 2 firmware updates on my MC6 pro yesterday and they went without a hitch. If all else fails send support a message, them guys are pretty cool

That worked! Thanks a lot for the help. But for some reason, now one of my presets disappeared. I can’t recall the preset that I had prior to the Editor and FW upgrade. Have you ever noticed certain presets are not available after a FW update? I appreciate the help.
No, everything has always been good for me. But I have OCD and always make backups in case things go south
