Feature request: Daisy chaining MC6 Pros

I’d like to make a feature request: allowing us to use two MC6 Pros chained together, in essence, creating a single MC12 Pro.

I believe there are some limited ways to do this today, but the two devices mostly still function separately. I think it would great for the two devices to talk to each other seamlessly, with one device being the “Control,” which would be the one your would connect to the editor and program, and the other device being the “Auxiliary,” which takes its instructions from the Control The way I envision it is that for any given bank, the default would be that the Control device displays presets A-F, and the Auxiliary device displays presets G-L. Of course, for truly massive boards, you wouldn’t need to stop there, but could add even a third MC6 Pro, for a MC18 Pro (although that seems like overkill, even to me).

How difficult would that be? For folks with bigger boards, especially those of us using the ML10X, I think it could be really appealing. The combination of 2 MC6 Pros and the ML10X would stand up to (and really, be a major improvement over) both the RJM PBC and the GigRig G3 (or any other MIDI switcher), and would be much more modular to boot, making it potentially easier to fit on different pedalboards.

Also, presumably this same approach could be used as more Pro controllers are developed and released–an MC4 Pro and an MC6 pro can be an MC10 Pro. Two MC4 Pros can be an MC8 Pro, but working differently. And MC6 Pro and an MC8 Pro can be an MC14 Pro, etc. It really opens up customizability as the Pro line expands.

If nothing else, it would be really helpful for two MC6 Pros to be able to share expression pedal signals, so that a preset from either device can control the expression pedal (and therefore the devices the expression pedal is sending information to), regardless of which MC6 Pro the expression pedal is plugged into.

Interested and listening!

i did a search to see if this was possible. is it possible?

Currently, there is minimal integration capabilities. If you connect MC6P to another MC6P via the Host USB port, you can sync the banks if you change banks on the primary device (where the USB Host port is used). But that’s about it.

Of course, if there is interest, we can build further on these capabilities.
