External Tap Tempo to control midi clock

Hello there!
I’m trying to use my boss FS-5U (normally closed to work on the downstroke) TRS to omniport on the MC6 pro to set the midi clock. Trying to set up the global settings to make this work but I’m having issues.

Omniport settings
TRS Aux Switch
Tip Toggle midi clock
Ring Do nothing
Tip + ring Do nothing

Gen config
Midi clock persist turned on
Everything else off

Midi clock Port settings
Only DIN Midi is checked

Thru settings
Only DIN5 to DIN5 is checked.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

If anyone knows how to make a relay port accept tap Tempo that could also solve my issue.

Looking at this diagram, I think that footswitch has a TS and not a TRS socket. That may be your problem???

That’s a good point. Reading the controller manual I also noticed it says the Omni and relay ports won’t receive analog tap tempo so I’m just dedicating a switch on the controller. I really prefer the squishy feel of those paddle type switches for tap tempo so kind of a bummer but hopefully it will accept analog tap somewhere on the unit in the not too distant future. Thanks for the response.

Not sure if the MC Pro is different or if I am misunderstanding the issue, but I am using a Boss FS-6 for tap tempo on MC 8 with these settings:

Omniport Settings
TRS AUX Switch
Tip MIDI Clock Tap Tempo

The switch has to be normally open to function properly.
Relay ports are effectively footswitch outputs. If you want to connect a switch you’ll have to connect to an omniport

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help.
I’ve changed my settings but I can’t tell if it’s working because the bpm isn’t displaying on the mc6 pro.

I had this stuff set up before but I did a factory reset after selling my H90 and can’t seem to get the basics set back up. I know when you’re connected to the app most features like this don’t work on the controller but it’s weird that I was able to get the bpm to display a moment ago and now again it doesn’t come up.

I have a Boss FS-7 connected to omniport 1. When it’s connected the bpm does not display on the screen but when I unplug the TRS cable from the omniport the bpm displays just fine. Is there any way I can have both?

Also the controller is not sending midi clock to my pedals when the FS-7 is plugged in but it does when it’s removed from the omniport. I have persist enabled

Hi… have you read this? Boss

Thank you. This solved a few issues I was having. Much appreciated.
