I just got this unit, and got things up and running fine…besides expression pedals.
Is the MC8 Pro extremely picky with expression pedals? I’m not familiar with any other Morningstar controllers so I don’t know if this one differs from them.
I have a couple of Boss FV-500 pedals, using their expression output. I thought they were pretty normal functioning expression pedals…and they work fine and smoothly on everything else I’ve connected them to.
On the MC8 Pro the response is stepped and erratic. I’ve tried adjusting every parameter I could find to no avail (sensitivity, curve etc). No matter how I set things, there are sudden abrupt moves. The percentage indicator also indicates this. It may stand still for a while, then suddenly make a 5 percent jump.
Is there some hidden setting I’ve missed? Is my unit faulty? Do any of you get smooth response from your expression pedals on this unit?
Have you performed a calibration? Have you tried LOWERING the expression sensitivity? Sorry for the obvious questions…just need to rule out the obvious things first
This one is solved I posted a response in another thread so just a heads up here:
I had made some small custom TRS cables that swapped tip/ring as this was needed when I used the FV-500’s with a Rocktron All Access. Since they have worked fine for years since then with my other equipment, my memory probably got things mixed, thinking it was these pedals that needed it, but it was likely the Rocktron.
