Engaging a tuner preset doesn't kill the signal

Hey, I have a Boss TU-3 which I’ve configured a preset for, but whereas normally (outside the ML5’s loops) engaging my tuner bypasses the signal, I can’t seem to get this to work with my ML5. I found this comment (on The Gear Page) where the commenter says that “if you have a tuner in loop D (and don’t connect the return cable) you can create a preset that only includes loop D so you can tune silently.”

I’ve tried every permutation I can come up with, putting my tuner into different loops both with and without the return connected, but no dice. Is there a fix for this or should I just give up and put my tuner in front of my ML5? (Although this would kinda suck, because of my board layout, which I designed around the assumption that my tuner would work normally in an ML5 loop.)

Thanks, y’all!

That TGP comment is correct - if you want to mute your signal when the tuner loop is engaged, just don’t have anything connected to the return loop. So when your tuner loop is engaged, the signal goes to your tuner and just ends there

@james Thanks, man, everything’s working great now! (Turns out I had swapped a couple of cables on my Matrise matrix mixer.)
