Editor via CME MIDI Jack only partially working - no save

Got an MC6 Pro a couple of days ago … struggling with wireless MIDI.

Editing from PC or iPhone using the USB-C cable connection works fine.

I have connected a CME WIDI Jack (TRS cables, set to type A MIDI) to the MC6 PRO.

The WIDI Jack is paired to a CME WIDI Bud Pro USB dongle for PC connections and directly to the iPhone’s Bluetooth MIDI (only using one at a time of course).

Behaviour / problem is the same with the PC and iPhone editor:

When I connect to the CME WIDI jack at editor startup, the connection to the MC6 Pro is established and I see the messages “loading bank names” flashing for a moment.

Then the editor shows the correct settings for bank 1, preset 1. So it looks like there is a connection …

However when I press buttons on the MC6 Pro, the editor does not switch presets (it does via USB).

And when I try to save a preset change, nothing happens on the MC6 Pro (but no error message). The WIDI Jack is blinking shortly when I click save and the MC6 Pro also shows the tiny black dot on the right display’s right edge to indicate activity.

Using latest firmware, 3.12.8 and matching editor.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Chris

Some more information after testing for a while.

The WIDI Jack has the latest firmware and works with other MIDI devices. Tried to downgrade the MC6 Pro firmware, first to 3.12.3 (still not working) then to 3.11.2 (working). So at least I can use this as a temporary workaround.

Is anyone using the WIDI Jack with the iOS editor successfully with the 3.12.x firmware? If yes, was any configuration required (MIDI thru etc.)?

Resolved by James from support by bugfix in firmware, beta version available in this post:

Tested and works fine, WIDI Jack on TRS now working both to my iPhone and to the WIDI Bud Pro on my laptop.
