Editor request: Any future plan for preset re-ordering, cut/copy/paste, drag/drop, etc. for the editor?

@james

I know this has been brought up many months ago and reiterated by other users, but still wondering if there are any plans in the (near?) future for preset re-ordering, cut/copy/paste, drag/drop, etc. for the editor? Really, anything that would help us end users organize the presets we’ve made.

Every other device editor I’ve ever run across has these as standard features. And while it’s amazing to have 512 presets (!) on my ML10X units, having no way at all to organize the presets I design makes for one impossible mess.

I end up having to spend all my time searching for a preset I made, instead of programming. It’s a real workflow killer. Even a very basic “sort alphabetically” option would at least give us some degree of organization.

Morningstar has designed some truly amazing units, but, imo, this feature is a bare essential that has inexplicably been missed.

A Trello card has been created for this request: Editor request: Any future plan for preset re-ordering, cut/copy/paste, drag/drop, etc. for the editor?

We can add the preset copy and paste functions in the next update. Currently it is limited to copy and pasting of the connections itself.

Preset re-ordering within a bank should be possible as well.

For drag and drop, I need to clarify what you are referring to?

Awesome to hear! Thank you @james.

Drag and drop being just another organizational option within most editors(i.e.: click&hold, then drag a preset to a new location and drop, and adjacent presets move over to fit the incoming preset), though I would imagine drag&drop would be much more difficult to implement on the software programming end of things than a simple cut/copy/paste feature.

For the user, a drag&drop feature would be faster in most cases than cut/copy/paste, especially if one had the ability to highlight multiple presets and drag them all at once.

But ultimately, either one of those options will allow us to get the job of organizing done. Very much looking forward to the update! :smiley:
