Editor and Logic Pro not working together (conflict)

Sorry to be a party pooper but since the update, what was previously a rock solid system is now unreliable, which renders your hardware useless for me in any kind of professional capacity.

I’m running the above editor with firmware 13

Before you say use the web editor - that’s useless when you’re on stage underground and there’s no wifi or internet signal on the back of the stage.

What are the problems:

Editor doesn’t recognise the MC6Pro about 50% of the time - Force Quit

Editor recognises the MC6Pro but doesn’t load up any banks - won’t disconnect - force quit

Editor recognises MC6Pro and loads up banks - but takes about 45 seconds - sometimes only 50% of banks will load

MC6 Pro keeps reverting to midi channel 14 ID despite being reset at Channel 15 and restarting again and again

If Logic Pro is open at the same time the editor and MC6 often freeze and erratic midi data gets sent to logic - all my MLXs freeze and I need to depower them all to reset them

It’s not useable.

Any help please?

A Trello card has been created for this request: Desktop Editor Version 3.13.3 - It’s so buggy its basically useless

Simply install the browser editor as a web app so it can be used offline. Installing the Editor for Offline Use | Morningstar Engineering

Ok cool - I’ll try that as my first point call.

Thanks for the share.

So there’s some kind of conflict that happens when Logic Pro is open at the same time as the editor.

When Logic is NOT open - banks load after about 15 seconds.

When Logic IS open editor won’t recognise mcpro all my MLXs freeze and need to be hard reset. Then I need to force quit the editor and hard reset the mc6 pro

Additionally there’s a bug in the midi editing - you can deselect all the check boxes on a channel to have no inputs and press save.

But when you quit and come back again all the check boxes will now be turned on.

I want to control my entire rig from a logic song page with all the changes programmed so I don’t need to touch anything.

Currently it’s not possible to do this as Logic Pro and the editor HATE each other.

There are multiple virtual USB MIDI ports available on your MC6 PRO. This will allow you to run both Logic Pro and the Editor simultaneously without conflict. You can refer to the Virtual USB MIDI Ports article for how to use this feature.

Can you troubleshoot by using the Serial connect option in the editor, and let me know if the issue (that conflict with logic) persists ?

The virtual MIDI port seems to have sorted out the issue.

Thanks very much for the steer

In my experience it is the audio interface that is the problem, not the DAW
