Custom Pedalboard routing planning

Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum and Morningstar gear (I bought ML10x last august but never used it until now).

I’m planning/building an ampless hybrid custom Pedalboard based on Hotone ampero II and morningstar ML10x.

The main signal flow will be (i’m not considering the other mono/stereo pedals connected to the other ML10x loops):

Guitar to ML10x input tip

Send A TIP to Ampero II mono Input

Ampero fx loop send (stereo) to ML10x Return A (Tip and Ring).

Then, ML10x Stereo out to Ampero II fx loop (stereo) return. The main out stereo signal will leaves from Ampero II balanced out.

I will manage ampero II as suggested in ML10x faq for stereo devices with mono input.

After connecting the other pedals to ML10x, the input Ring and Send A Ring will remain unused.

I’m planning to place in the I/O panel of the Pedalboard a Send/Return connection, linked, respectively, to the unused Send A Ring and Input Ring of the Ml10x. I’d like to use it for new pedals or an esternal valve preamp.

In the editor Advanced mode, the main signal flow (not considering the other pedals) would be:

Guitar - input TIP - Send A Ring (to external preamp input) - input Ring (from external preamp) - Send A TIP (to Ampero II mono input) - Return A TIP and Ring (from Ampero II stereo fx loop Send). The main out as described before.

Do you think this signal routing could work?

Thanks for your patience

Is your guitar going to the ML10x input or the Preamp first? Reading the text above it seems like you’re using the Send A to head to the preamp but the return from the preamp goes into input? It seems like you’d be better off just treating the preamp as a regular pedal and putting Loop A send/return to the preamp. I usually make flow diagrams in Google Drawings.

Thanks for you reply.

Yes, I will consider the external Amp/Premp just as another pedal.

The SEND signal going out to the Preamp comes from one of the ML10X loops (in the example above SEND A Ring). it’s an unused SEND becouse it’s corresponding RETURN comes from a stereo pedal with mono input (it requires one SEND and two RETURN).
