Current status of midi clock drifting & solutions?

I’m using the MC8, midibox and mlx10.

Now that I finally have everything up and running, I am running into midi clock issues (not surprisingly). I was aware of issues but up until this point Ive been very lucky and midi clock has worked perfectly. I guess I am sending too many cc and pc messages now.

Are there any current solutions to get CC and PC messages to a handful of pedals while also sending them all midi clock data. I’m open to buying an external midi clock device but I’m not sure if if I can use a midi splitter to send midi clock and cc messages from two different devices at once.

Please let me know what the best solution is at this time.

What devices you using that are facing the drifting issues? Which MIDI ports are they connected to (omniport/5pin) ?

AFAIK, we’ve not had any reports about MIDI clock drifting since we fixed it in v3.9 or v3.10. MIDI clock on Omniports have some drawbacks where MIDI Clock timing is affected if you are send a stream of CC messages (via CC generator or CC expression) but for most accurate clock, use the 5pin port.

Just to clarify, you are generating the MIDI clock from the MC8?

Hi James, thank you for the quick reply.

Im running MC8. Im using the 5pin out to the morningstar midi box. All of the omniports on mc8 are expression in

Im using the 1/8th trs to 5pin or 1/4 trs to go to all my pedals from the morningstar midibox.

Ill try updating firware and do some other troubleshooting. I found a faulty expression pedal that was chaotically sweeping on its own so that could have been the problem. Ill try again tomorrow with coffee and let you know if i have any issues
