Considering MC8 Pro + ML10X for KMA Tyler Deluxe dual-band setup — new to MIDI, need confirmation

Hi all, I’m new here and looking for some advice before I buy.

I’m completely new to MIDI and currently planning a new pedalboard build.

I’m considering buying the MC8 Pro and ML10X, but I’d like to confirm first if this combination can achieve what I’m hoping to do, and whether it’s the right fit for my setup.

Primarily a bass player. Have comp, octave, filter, fuzz, dirt, preamp and a h90 with parallel routing as always on the board pedals.

Am adding a KMA Tyler Deluxe crossover pedal, which splits my bass signal into independent low-pass (LP) and high-pass (HP) paths. Each path has its own send and return, and the pedal provides built-in phase correction on both bands and the main output, so it’s designed for parallel routing. I am planning on putting the octave, filter in one loop of the ML10X and the fuzz and dirt in another loop. Also 2 loops for h90 pre and post parallel routing.

Here’s what I’d like to achieve:

1. Use the Tyler’s LP and HP loops independently through the ML10X.

2. Keep two “always-active” audition inserts — one in the LP path and one in the HP path — so I can plug in test pedals directly and have them immediately active without needing to change presets or banks.

3. Also dedicate loops for my H90 (pre and post), a preamp, and one global audition insert for full-range testing.

4. Keep the Tyler’s analog controls (blend, crossover frequency, LP/HP levels) fully functional even when the ML10X loops are empty.

5. Be able to reorder existing loops into either the Tyler Low pass or High Pass loops e.g octave and fuzz in Tyler HP loop, chorus from h90 in Tyler LP loop.

Essentially, I’d like the ML10X to behave like a smart patchbay rather than a preset-based switcher:

When nothing is plugged into the LP or HP audition inserts, the ML10X should automatically pass the signal (send → return shorted internally).

When a pedal is plugged in, it should instantly enter that signal path without needing to recall a preset.

Could you please confirm whether this setup is:

1. Possible with the ML10X and MC8 Pro combination?

2. Optimal for using the Tyler Deluxe’s crossover to its full potential?

3. Any recommended best practices or limitations I should know before committing to this approach?

Thanks in advance. I’m completely new to MIDI and just want to make sure I’m heading in the right direction before buying.

Any advice or confirmation from the Morningstar team (or experienced users) would be really appreciated.
