to my knowledge, the existing Icon library looks like this right now:
But there are way more icons available. Is there any real overview of all of them with their associated shortcuts?

A few more were added recently. FYI there’s a thread to request more.
If you hover your mouse over these in the editor, you can see the shortcut for them one at a time.
Where do you find them? I have less in my library. Although I can use all of them on my MC6 pro. Except the skull.
You my need to update your editor (it usually tells you when it’s out of date) … and update your firmware to use it.
Then click here:
I am running the latest too and only see what you are seeing. However I did update to the Beta version and then the full list was available. Then reverted back to this version when the Beta started doing nasty things.
Actually James just dropped the new firmware and that includes the extra icons. Thanks James
We always push updates to this URL and you can always find the latest editor here: https://editor.morningstar.io/
This is the latest version:
It might take a few moments for the app to prompt an update if you have loaded the previous one.
Or you can just try opening the URL in incognito mode and see if the latest one loads
Well, that’s the web version. But I need the app. If I wanna download the latest version right now, this is what I see:
Rantanplan, just curious as to why you need the app as opposed to the web version? The web version will always be up to date and it still works offline.
I’d recommend installing the editor as a chrome app if you need it offline: Installing the Editor for Offline Use | Morningstar Engineering Helpdesk
For this desktop version that you shared, the code is static and we constantly push updates to the editor. We will look into publishing an update for the v3.13 firmware if you really need it.
Because I don’t use Chrome. And because I want to use it offline as well.
I don’t think I quite understand. There is an official offline app version, but it doesn’t get the same updates? Why?
It makes no sense to me to install an additional browser just to use the Editor, which exists as an app anyway. I can’t be the only one using the app, right?
I initially preferred using the app but when I saw that updates can be pushed to the browser version within minutes, I opted to use this instead. It can also be used offline and the iOS app uses the same core, so it just made sense to me to use it.
However, I understand your reluctance to install a browser just for this purpose. I recently had to install Firefox for a similar reason with something else and I hated doing this.
Ok. Go to the bottom of the connection screen (after selecting either the Live or Beta editor) and tap on the blue Desktop button. This will enable the desktop version of the editor on your iOS device instead of the mobile version and at a quick glance of demo mode, it looks to me like all the icons are there.
Indeed it does. Thanks for the help!
That’s yet another point of confusion though. Why do I have to open the Desktop version on my iOS device running the iOS app? It makes no sense and is incredibly cluttered.
I can’t say for certain but it would seem to me that the iOS app contains just enough info and functions to get done what’s needed on-the-fly in an agile mobile format….whereas the desktop editor mode is fully-featured and therefore quite cluttered on an iOS device screen. If my thoughts on this are correct, icons wouldn’t be high on the list of priorities and this is why they’re not present in mobile mode. However, I’d recommend that this iOS workaround with using Desktop mode would only be something you’d use for specific features/functions that aren’t available in the mobile mode and for the majority of things, you’d just use the iOS app in its designed format.
Again, I understand why you mightn’t want to install Chrome but if you want the latest features and capabilities as soon as they’re released, it’s the most prudent editor option to use with your controller…..and you can install the editor as a Chrome app and use it offline.
We constantly push updates for fixes and improvements to the web editor. This model works great for the web editor. For the Desktop editor, it is a static file within the app itself and a new bundle needs to be compiled, signed, notarised and released after each update, whether minor or major.
I’d recommend installing the editor as a chrome app, which will allow it to be available offline and still benefit from the latest updates automatically.
We’ll get the desktop editor published once all the reported bugs are fixed.
Regarding the mobile editor, it is optimised for iOS. The full features are not there. But if you’re using a larger tablet that is able to fit the desktop editor then the option to open the desktop editor is there. Of course, we can still further optimise this (like check screen size before deciding which editor to load).
Again, I don’t wanna use chrome. And I shouldn’t be forced into doing so.
I wanna use your app because that was what I bought the MC6 pro for. Kind of a big surprise and disappointment that I can’t use it like that to be honest. It also doesn’t state that anywhere.
Maybe you misunderstood me.
I can upload the compiled build tomorrow if you need it.
