Change Shift State with external midi

I am using my MC6 Pro to control live looping in the software Loopy Pro. Everything works.

I also have Loopy Pro sending midi to the MC6 Pro to change it’s display to indicate if it’s recording or playing. That works.

Problem: I need one additional display showing that the loop is stopped. For this I would like to use the Shift state. Unfortunately there is no direct way to engage or disengage the shift state via external midi. Is there a workaround?

Note: I don’t actually use Toggle or Shift. I’m only using external midi to change the display on the MC6 via engage and disengage toggle. I need this to come from Loopy pro because I do not always use the MC6 to activate loops. Sometime I activate them from loopy pro and I need the the MC6 to reflect the status of Loopy pro.

Hi,
I’d program a preset with a ‘set toggle’ - ‘shift’ and pair this with an action you wouldn’t usually use. This message could then be triggered via midi.

I’m very interested to hear more about this. Can you share some photos, and what states you can display for each track? What about stopped and empty tracks?
