Can We Share & Import Pedal-Specific Presets on MC6 Pro?

hi everyone,

I’m a new user using the MC6 Pro, and I was wondering —
is there a way to share or import presets for specific pedals?

For example, let’s say someone already made a preset for the Chase Bliss Gen Loss —
is there any way to just add it to my bank, or do we have to build everything from scratch?

Would be awesome if we had a feature (or a shared library) where users could upload and download pedal-specific presets or bank setups. Could save a lot of time and help new users get started quicker.

Thanks!

A Trello card has been created for this request: Can We Share & Import Pedal-Specific Presets on MC6 Pro?

In the Controller Backup section, you have the option to back up and restore either the current bank you’re on or the entire device. Super handy if you’re experimenting or switching setups. Also, in the Edit Preset page, you can back up and upload individual presets. This opens up a cool opportunity for sharing presets between users.

That said, keep in mind that sharing presets can still be tricky depending on how your MIDI channels and pedals are configured. New users might run into some confusion or unexpected behavior if their setup doesn’t match the original one

I’ll second that. While the file sharing is a greate idea, I think it won’t work for several reasons.

Too many different workflows out there. Setting up a simple toggle is a matter of seconds and there is already a dictionary to help with that.

Constant updates make files obsolete.

Midi channels differ.

The midi implementation of some pedals/software/other devices isn’t fixed.

Appreciate the thoughts guys

Yeah, I get that workflows and setups can vary a lot — but honestly, changing a MIDI channel in a preset isn’t such a big deal. And most pedals don’t really change their MIDI mapping that often anyway.

I just thought it’d be fun to load up a preset someone built for a cool sound — like something on the Chroma Console, for example. Kinda like how people share patches for the ZOIA.

Could be a great way to get inspired by how others use their gear.

Curious if anyone’s interested in starting something like this — or maybe Morningstar is already thinking in that direction?

Perhaps we can make it easier for people to contribute to the Midi Dictionary from inside the editor?

Perhaps there’s a section of the midi dictionary that is more community focused, use at your own risk.
