I’m unable to connect to either my MC6 mkii or MC4 pro via usb cable, using the iOS Morningstar editor app. The devices do not show up on port list, and if I try to connect to any port I get an error message stating there is no response from the controller. I’ve tried several cables to no avail, and the same cables work with my MacBook/chrome browser. The chrome browser on the iPad will not connect either. The iPad is on iPadOS 26.4 and both controllers have the latest firmware. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does not iPad use a lightning or usb C cable? If lightning, then you’ll need the Apple USB camera adaptor to convert the lightning protocol to USB.

I figured it out… Morningstar has to be powered by iPad usb only. If plugged in externally as well, it won’t work.
I don’t think that is the case for the older iPads.. It is perhaps possible that the USB does not enumerate if there is no current draw from the USB port in the newer iPads. Can you try connect via USB first, and then add the 9V power source after and see if it still works?
That works. If I connect to iPad first without power to the controller it connects. If I turn power on to the controller afterward, the connection is not lost and remains fully functional.

The likely issue is that the MC draws minimal current from USB when a 9V power source is present. With little to no current draw on VBUS, the iPad may not detect and enumerate the device.
Unfortunately, this isn’t something we can address in software. It’s a limitation to be aware of when connecting to an iPad.
