Buy 2 ML5s or 1 ML10X?

Okay, this sounds like a stupid question but I’m trying to wrap my head around the world of switching.

I have a guitar pedalboard with 11-12 pedals and an MC8. I’ve noticed some frequency loss in my clean tone lately and I feel it might be time to get a loop switcher. To start, I have zero interest in loop order switching, and to make matters worse I have an always on pedal in the middle of my chain. My tuner at the beginning of my chain and the Dream 65 at the end of my chain don’t really need to be in loops so I’m not too concerned about them.

I’d like to be able to turn each pedal on and off with the MC8 to clear up my signal chain but I don’t want ten adapter cables for the stereo to mono on the ML10X crowding the board so part of me thinks two ML5s for the same price is better… I could use one as the before my always on and one after . Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice? Any alternatives anyone thinks would be easier?

Thanks for all your help in advance!
