I’m using the Boss EV-1W midi expression pedal through the MC8 Pro as an expression pedal for the Darkglass Anagram. Everything is working fine except, that I don’t see the expression travel percentage or preset name on the MC8 Pro screen like I would when I use an expression pedal through an Omniport. Thoughts? I’m connecting the EV-1W to the MC8 Pro through the DIN5 In.
You could set up your expression pedal to send ‘engage expression’ messages on the MC’s channel. The MIDI data can be converted to act like a normal expression pedal connected to an omniport would.
That way you could use the expression presets of the MC.
@GuitarWolf Thanks but I’m not following. All I want is to see the expression % when I’m using the expression pedal I have connected using MIDI. It does not show up. It only shows up if I have an expression pedal connected to the omniport. I tried to send a video but I can’t. Here is a pic of what I want to achieve. Again, it only shows up with the omniport and not with an expression pedal connected through midi. I’m using a Dunlop Expression pedal on ominiport 4 to set the example, but I want to use the Boss EV-WL since it has a toe switch. Thanks in advance for your guidance. The Boss is working well, with the exception that I cannot see the %. I have the Boss EV-WL to send a cc message on the MC8 Pro channel to CC54 which is the one for Expression 4. In the MC8 Pro I have a CC message on the Darkglass Anagram channel to CC24 which is the setting I’m controlling through expression. Hope this helps.
I’m not sure of this but I think the EV-1-WL can only be calibrated through the Boss app. I may be wrong because I have one and could never get it to work with anything but a Boss product.
It works great for me! The only thing missing is the percentage travel on the MC8 Pro sceen. Between the two you can progam it to be momentary, latching, etc. Really versatile when paired with the MC8 Pro.
