Hello, as the topic title states, I’m looking for some input about the best way to utilize banks as songs for presets.
Here’s my current setup.
I have each song setup in a bank and the bank consists of presets like Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus Big, Bridge, Outro, etc.
I use Setlist Manager to drag and drop songs. Really enjoy the Morningstar stuff!
This all works well, but I could use some advice.
Because I don’t have a setlist that is set in stone, I don’t know which song will follow which.
Because of that, I have each banks setup to do a couple of things. 1. Clear every drive, modulation, etc. back to base level. Essentially, shutoff everything except for my amp mod. 2. Set the BPM of the song. 3. Set the channel on my POG 2 4. Set a noise gate on my EQ2.
However, that means that going from one song to the next is always back to a totally dry signal. Maybe that’s just the nature of the beast? I’ve thought about setting it so that I at least have reverb. I’m afraid to leave delay on, for fear of the weird time warbles that happen when BPM is set. What do y’all do in this situation.
Second, I feel like I’m pretty much locked in when I’m on a song. Let’s say I’m in a song and I decide I want a setting from my Kernom Ridge that wasn’t previously in there. If I leave to go get it, the next time I come back to the bank, it wipes all of my settings due to the fact that I have the “On Bank Enter” settings in the aforementioned paragraph.
What are y’all’s best practices, tips, etc.? I’d like for my banks (songs) to be a bit more dynamic.
