Best way to rearrange Default Bank Sequence?

Is there way to rearrange the Default Bank Sequence? I tried navigating to Controller Settings / Bank Arrangement, and then tried dragging various banks in the default bank sequence column, but nothing seems to stick.

I believe I can create a Custom Bank Sequence but I’d prefer to keep the default and have access to all banks.

I don’t think you can “re-arrange” the default sequence, but you can drag all 30 banks into the “custom” column and arrange them however you wish and the choose to use either the default or custom column.

Thanks for the information. For me at least, it would be helpful to have this functionality, or perhaps there’s a work-around, like maybe there’s a way to copy a bank to a new location.

Hi… try using Setlist Manager: Setlist Manager Manual

First, save All Banks to a json file in Editor. Then load that file into setlist manager, you can drag and drop the order, resave and load the new file into your MC.

Or you can simply copy and paste banks in the editor. Works best if you’ve got a spare bank to copy things into if you’re moving things around a lot.

This works. Thank you! Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve messed around with my MC6… I was not aware of the ‘Select Editor’ and the ‘Setlist Manager’ option. Pretty brilliant. Thanks again.

Just did this again and realized I forgot exactly how to do a few steps. It gets confusing navigating between the desktop app and the online Setlist Manager app. Also, there’s no link to the Setlist Manager on its site. Made a few steps as a note to self that’s maybe helpful to others?

  1. Navigate to Controller Backup
  2. Choose All Banks
  3. Save json file to wherever makes sense
  4. Access Morningstar MIDI editor here
  5. Select Setlist Manager in the menubar
  6. Select your model (Ex: MC6)
  7. Choose Load from file and load the backup file you created earlier
  8. Rearrange and adjust banks
  9. Choose Save as backup file
  10. Go to Morningstar Application
  11. Choose Restore your controller presets
  12. Choose the file you just saved and import it-- you should be good, though you may need to restart your desktop Morningstar Editor
